All the students of this college are Day Scholars to make them feel that all belong to the Simulia
College family and partake of the fountain of learning. The Day Scholars'
Association has been constituted as follows:
1. The name of the Association shall be The Simulia College Day Scholars' Association, Markona.
2. The aims and objectives of the Association shall be
(a) to organise social, cultural and academic gatherings.
(b) To worship the presiding deities of learning, wisdom and fine arts.
(c) To organise debates, meetings, lectures and competition in fine arts.
(d) To credit brotherly love and friendship among students.
3. (a) All students of the college are ipso-facto members of the Association.
(b) All members of the staff are honorary members of the Association.
(c) The Executive Committee of the Association with approval of the Principal may confer honorary membership on any
individual distinguished in the field of fine arts, learning and social work.
4. The Executive Committee of the Association shall consist of:
(a) President - Principal (ex-officio)
(b) Vice-President and Associate Vice-Presidents to be nominated by the Principal from among the members of the staff.
(c) Executive members:
(1) Secretary to be elected by +3 students from among them.
(ii) Asst. Secretary to be elected by +3 students from +3 1st year and +3 2nd year classes.
(iii) One class representative from each class (Arts and Commerce counted separately).
(iv) One class representative from among the woman students.
N.B.: The hostel boarders can neither contest nor cast their votes for the DSA.
5. The Secretary shall be responsible for:
(a) Convening executive meeting.
(b) Maintaining records and proceedings.
(c) Organising activities under 2 above.
(d) Maintaining activities under the direct supervision of the Principal.
(e) The Asst. Secretary shall assist the Secretary in discharging his/her duties and shall assume all charges of the Secretary during his/her absence.
6. Meeting of the Association shall be opened to members of the college staff as visitors.
7. The funds of the Association shall consist of:
(a) Annual contribution from the students.
(b) Voluntary contribution from members.
(c) Other contributions donations/offerings received/raised with the approval of the Executive Committee and with the approval of the Principal.
8. Before a function or a competition is organised the detail shall receive the approval of the Principal.
9. The Principal shall be the final controller of the Association and may, at his discretion, alter, amend, supplement or abrogate any or all of these rules.
